Register for the 2018 Celebrate Community 5k/1k Fun Run

Put on your party best, and come celebrate with us! 

On January 14, the Celebrate Community 5k & 1k Fun Run/Walk will bring together all who share and celebrate the Community of which we are all a part and to celebrate each other.  Agudas Achim Congregation invites you to join us for our 4th annual running of this community celebration.  

Celebrate the start of 2018. Celebrate milestones.  Celebrate, walk, run, and have fun!

When :  The 5k will start at 9:00 a.m., with the 1k Fun Run/Walk to follow at 9:05 a.m.

Where:  The start/finish area is by the US Patent and Trademark Office Atrium on Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria.

This is a USATF certified course, and the 5k will be chip-timed by Commonwealth Race Management.  The course is Metro accessible (Eisenhower Avenue Station).  Strollers are welcome for the event.  No pets, please. 


5k - $25 until online registration closes on Thursday, January 11 at 8:00 p.m., $35 on race day.            

​​1k - $15 until online registration closes on Thursday, Janaury 11 at 8:00 p.m., $20 on race day. 

Packet Pick-Up:  At the Arlington Potomac River Running Store on Friday, January 12 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., and on race day morning starting at 8:00 a.m at the race site. .

Swag: Those registered prior to January 1, 2018 will be guaranteed a commemorative race shirt.  After January 1, shirts will be available first come, first served. 

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers. The top three male & female finishers in each of the following age groups; 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-69, 70 & over will also receive an award. 

Join us also in celebrating a very special birthday as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy on this weekend that calls us together each year to serve our neighbors and our communities
  A portion of the proceeds from the Celebrate Community 5K & 1K Fun Run/Walk will go to ALIVE! (ALexandrians InVolved Ecumenically!), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  We will also be collecting food for ALIVE!’s Emergency Food Distribution Program at the event.  Please bring non-perishable items (especially canned meat/fish, cereal, peanut butter/jelly, canned spaghetti, complete pancake mix (needs only water), syrup, dried milk, crackers, Jello, coffee, and tea). The need has never been greater as the number of food recipients in Alexandria continues to grow.
