Why are you doing a 5K? Is it to promote healthy living, compete in a sport, as part of a weight loss program or just a fun activity you enjoy? Some of us are competing against others while others are competing against ourselves. Sports help children develop physical skills, get exercise, make friends, have fun, learn how to be a member of a team and improve self-esteem. That is why Purcellville initiated the Sports Grant program so more children can participate in sports. All proceeds received from “Train to Run” will go to the Purcellville Sports Grant which began in 2008.
Funds from “Train to Run” will be earmarked for the FY 2018 Sports Grant and will allow the program to continue and grow. Let’s give more children the opportunity to participate in sports and maybe one day they will be out running with us!
