Register for the 19^th Annual Round Robinson 5K

Where:  The race begins at Robinson Secondary School, Fairfax Virginia      
              

Registration Fee: 
$25 Early Bird Rate through September 30, 2016
$30 through November 10, 2016
$40 Late Registration November 11, 2016 through November 13, 2016

Runners who register by October 28, 2016 will be guaranteed a race
t- shirt.  Runners registering after November 1, will be issued t-shirts on a first-come-first serve basis after the race is complete.

Packet pick up will be availalbe at the Burke =PR= Store (5715 Burke Center Parkway, Burke) on Saturday, November 12 from 1:00-4:00. 

There is no "rain date." The event will be held rain, shine, snow. In the case of significantly inclement weather, we reserve the right to alter components of the event or course to address safety concerns, or potentially cancel the event.  In such situations, there will be No Refunds of entry fees. Each registrant must accept any such risk of their entry fee.

About the Race

The 2016 Round Robinson 5K is a community event open to any runners or walkers. The proceeds benefit Robinson Crew Booster Club, the Robinson Crew Team, and Special Operations Warrior Foundation. 

Robinson Crew is recognized as a varsity sports team, but, it receives no financial assistance from the Fairfax County Public School System, Fairfax County, or the State of Virginia. Robinson rowers and parents volunteer thousands of hours each year so that our student-athletes can participate in this exciting activity which builds not only strong bodies, but also teamwork and mental discipline. It costs approximately $1,900 per rower to cover the equipment, coaches’ salaries and other fees needed for a successful season.  Robinson Crew Booster Club is a non-profit organization.

A portion of the proceeds from the 2016 race will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.  The Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical, or trade school; as well as educational and family counseling to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to severely-wounded and hospitalized special operations personnel and their families.  Robinson Crew is also planning to host an Iron Oars challenge in March to raise additional funds for this charitable organization.   See www.ironoars.org for more information.

Course Information

The race is held on a certified 5K course. Runners and walkers will follow a course through neighborhood streets around Robinson Secondary School. See course map here

Awards and Prizes

Award certificates will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers of the race in each of the following age categories:  10 & Under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-25, 26-35, 36-49, 50+

Pre-Race Activities

Pre-race activities will kick off at 8:00 with a flag salute and the singing of The National Anthem, followed by a pre-race warm stretch and warm up.  The race will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Post-Race Activities

Refreshments will be served to all participants immediately following the race.  Awards and prizes will be given out at this time.

Timing

Racing timing will be done by Commonwealth Race Management.  The ChronoTrack timing system will be used to score the race. The system will use a disposable B-tag (Bib-tag), 
which will be secured to each runner's bib and records the exact time a runner crosses the finish line.
