In Washington, DC 3,000 children are in foster care; 1,800 children under the age of five are homeless; and 35,000 children live in homes where the next meal is uncertain.  Bright Beginnings, Inc is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 to provide childcare and other vital services to homeless families in DC.  Since then, more then 2,500 homeless families have been served by the Bright Beginnings program.
