2016 Freeze Your Gizzard 5k

Join us for the 14th annual Freeze Your Gizzard Cross Country 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on November 19, 2016. Celebrate Thanksgiving a little early with us and take the opportunity to have fun, exercise, and perhaps win a turkey! The 5k will start at 9 am, the 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:45 am.  

Registration Information:

5K: $25 until online registration closes on November 17th at 8:00 pm ($30 plus 2 cans of food for late and race day registration)

1 mile: $10 until online registration closes on November 17th ($15 plus 2 cans of food for late and race day registration)

All participants are asked to bring 2 canned goods or non-perishable items to donate to the Loudoun Interfaith Relief Food Bank. Pre-registraiton is open until Thursday, November 17th at 8:00 pm. Late registrations can be done in person during packet pick up or the morning of the race. 

Course: This course is cross country style and has several steep hills.  The race starts and finishes at the Gazebo at Ida Lee Park, 60 Ida Lee Drive NW, Leesburg, VA 20176.

Swag:  All pre-registered 5k participants will receive a commemorative Freeze Your Gizzard long sleeve t-shirt. Late or race-day 5K registrants will receive a shirt, if available. One mile finishers will receive a medal. 

Packet pick-up and Late Registration:  Runners may pick up race packets or register at Potomac River Running, Leesburg on Friday, November 18th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. or on race morning at Ida Lee Park from 7:00-8:30 a.m. 

Awards: Thanksgiving themed prizes will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups; 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & Over.   

Additional Information: Monetary donations for Loudoun Interfaith Relief accepted online or at the event. Thank you for your kindness. Loudoun Interfaith Relief will be hosting a post-race celebration for all participants. Enjoy refreshments and door prizes (must be present to win). Please no dogs, strollers wagons or baby joggers in races. Parking for the race is in the front grass field of Ida Lee Park, accessible from King Street. No parking available at the recreation center.
