2016 Workhouse 5k

Saturday, June 25 at 5:00 pm

The course will start in the middle of the Workhouse campus and go off road through the surrounding trails. A police roadblock will redirect the runner back to the Workhouse quad. The race will be restricted to 21 and above because the end of the race will culminate in the opportunity for racers to eat and drink in a beer garden. There will be live music for the racers to enjoy while cooling down from the run. 

The Workhouse 5k adventure run will bring new awareness of the site and the funds from the registration will go to support the internal programming of the Workhouse Arts Center which includes visual arts, performing arts, education, and the prison history museum.

The Workhouse is located at 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, VA 22079.

REGISTRATION is $25 until June 1, then $30 until online registration closes on Thursday June 23 at 8:00 pm. $35 during packet pick up and on race day.

SWAG: Each participant will receive an Orange Prison T-shirt. Post race refreshments will be served including beer for those 21 & Over with ID. 

PACKET PICK UP will be available on Friday June 24 from 11-6 at the Workhouse (9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, VA 22079) and Saturday, June 25 from 11-4:45

AWARDS will be given to the overall top 3 male and female finishers ($150-$100-$50). In addition the top 3 male and female finishers in each of the following age groups will be awarded: 21-25, 26-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75 & Over. 

Proceeds will benefit the arts, education and history programs of the Workhouse.
