The 3rd Annual Team Mathias 5K & 1K Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Proceeds from this event will fund Team Mathias’ mission to support pediatric cancer families across the country, continue to increase awareness of all childhood cancers, and raise funds for research. Team Mathias will be donating 50% of proceeds to Special Love, an organization that gives children with cancer and their families a chance to have a normal childhood through camps, financial assistance, and a community of support. 

Team Mathias was formed in 2012 by Mathias Giordano, a 13-year old from Leesburg, VA. Mathias was a strong warrior whose spirit and courage inspired many. His determination to make a difference and spread awareness of pediatric cancer lives on through the work of Team Mathias. This event is held in honor of Mathias' 15th birthday.

            Race Day Registration will begin at 8:00am at Smokehouse Live

                        5k12 & Under: $12

                        1K Fun Run Adult: $35

                        1K Fun Run 12 & Under: $12

**NEW this year a Virtual 5k! Can't join us this year, but still want to participate? Sign up for the Virtual 5k for $35, then over the weekend of June 11 & 12 run a 5k in memory of Mathias. We will mail you the race shirt to commemorate your 5k. 

Participants who register by May 30th will be guaranteed a race t-shirt. All others will receive a shirt on a first come first serve basis. 

Online registration will close on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 8:00pm.

Awards: The 5k race will be chip-timed with awards for the top male and female finisher (18 and over) and top male and female finishers in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9-12, and 13-18. 

Please stay after the race for fun family activities including face painting, crafts, caricature artists, balloon artists, raffles, and much more! A portion of all food purchases at Smokehouse Live will be donated to Team Mathias.
