2016 Palio di Siena 5k

Mark your calendars for the Fifth Annual Palio di Siena 5K, Fun Run and Family Carnival!

Registration fees: 5k:

$25 early bird registration through March 31, 2016

$30 registration through April 28 at 8 P.M. when on line registration closes

$35 when you register during packet pick up on April 29 or Race Day

1/2 Mile Fun Run/Walk: $10

Free for 5 & under

 

Awards: Prizes for the top 2 overall male and female finishers

Awards to the top 2 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over.

 

Race Day Info:

Packet Pickup and Late Registration:

Friday, April 30, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Church (1020 Springvale Rd, Great Falls). Come to pick up your race packet and stay for our pre-race pasta dinner starting at 5:00! OR you can pick up your packets race morning, from 7:30 to 8:30 am

 

The race is stroller friendly!

 

The Palio di Siena is the primary fundraiser for Siena Academy Montessori School. All Proceeds directly benefit the children enrolled in the school.

Inspired by the Palio di Siena horse races that are run each year through the streets of Siena, Italy, our own “Palio” begins and ends at St. Catherine of Siena church in Great Falls, VA.

 

Schedule:

7:30-8:30 am -- Registration and Packet Pick Up

8:45 am -- Head to the Starting Line!

9:00 am -- 5K Start!

9:50 am -- Half Mile Fun Run/Walk Start!

10:00am - 1:00pm - Carnival

10:30 am -- Award Presentation (don't worry...we will mail awards to those who have to leave before 10:30)

 

Team Challenge:

FIRST PRIZE – $1000

RUNNER-UP PRIZE – $500

A team consists of a minimum of 7 runners including at least one female.

The top 5 times (including at least 1 female time) will be combined to determine the winner. The prize money must be donated to a Catholic organization (a school, parish, CCD program, youth organization, pro-life group, etc).

Teams must notify Siena Academy of who they will donate the prize money to by emailing office@sienamontessori.org. All organizations must be pre-approved by Siena Academy prior to race day. The check will be made out directly to the organization.
