Come, run and finish under the Firetruck at the 2016 CASCASES FIRECHASE 10K/5K/1K
WHEN: Saturday, May 14, 2016, 8:00 a.m.
WHERE: Lowes Island Community Center, 47620 Saulty Drive, Potomac Falls (Sterling), VA
REGISTRATION FEES: Register early and save. Online registration closes May 11 at 8 p.m.
10K: $35 until March 15; $40 from March 16-May11; $45 during packet pick up & on race day
5K: $30 until March 15; $35 from March 16-May11; $40 during packet pick up & on race day
1K: $10 until May 11, $15 May 12 - race day
Technical Commemorative Race T-shirts will be guaranteed for 1k, 5k & 10k race participants when registered by May 1.
LATE REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP: There are three opportunities to register on-site or pick up your bib and T-shirt:
Thursday, May 12, 3-7 p.m at Potomac River Running store: Old Ashburn Square shopping center, 20630 Ashburn Road.
Friday, May 13, 3-7 p.m. at the Cascades Firehouse, 46700 Middlefield Drive, Sterling, VA.
Race day, registration opens at 6:30 a.m. at the Lowes Island Community Center, 47620 Saulty Drive.
AWARDS: Prizes for the 5k and 10k will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall finishers and top 3 male and female finishers in the following age group categories: 19 & younger, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & older. Ribboned medals will be given to all 1K finishers.
COURSE: The race will have you meandering through the Lowes Island neighborhood of Cascades.
The 10k will start at 8:00 am, 5k at 8:10 am and 1k at 8:15 am
After the Race enjoy a great family activities including; a face painter, caricaturist, touch a truck, food vendors, DJ, contests and a silent auction.
CHARITY BENEFICIARY: Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company. Funds raised will help purchase firefighter's gear and rescue equipment that require constant repair and replacement.
