2016 Born to Run Memorial 5K

On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 8:30 a.m., the Franklin Middle School community will be hosting the 3rd annual Born to Run Memorial 5K in tribute to the enduring spirit of Mrs. Jannine Parisi who lost her life on November 20th 2013 as a victim of an act of violence related to mental illness. Mrs. Parisi was a well-respected member of the Chantilly community as a parent, teacher, and friend.

Course descriptions:

·        The Born to Run Memorial 5K is a flat course race through the Chantilly Highlands neighborhood with both start and finish lines at Franklin Middle School.

Mission:

·       The Memorial 5K event aims to encourage family fitness while raising funds to directly benefit the well-being of the Franklin Middle School community.

·       This year’s proceeds will go directly to the Franklin MS PTA for school improvement. Additionally, representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Northern Virginia will be on hand to accept charitable donations. (NAMI website)

Registration fees:

Adults:

·        $30 through May 15th

·        $35 from May 16th until online registration closes on June 16th

·        $40 on Race Day (June 18th)

 

Students 18 & Under

·        $20 until online registration closes on June 16th ; $20 on Race Day

 

All participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt if registered by May 30th. Those registered after May 30th will not be guaranteed a t-shirt, so please register early!

Awards:

Born to Run Memorial 5K:

·        Overall male and female

·        Overall male and female from the Chantilly Pyramid

·        Top male and female for age groups 14 & under, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 & over

Race Packet Pick-up:

At Franklin Middle School, 3300 Lees Corner Road, Chantilly, VA 20151 on:

Friday, June 17th                              3:00-6:00 p.m.

 

Saturday, June 18th          7:00-8:00 a.m. (start time is 8:30 a.m.)
