We've Got Your Back 5k Race/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: The tradition continues as We've Got Your Back returns to Reston to celebrate healthy spines and Spinal Champions (those that have overcome their back or neck pain through non-operative or operative treatment)! Set your own goals and participate in either the timed 5K run/walk, or the 1 mile fun run/walk. Runners, joggers, trotters, and walkers welcome!
We’ve got early morning music to get you moving, and one of the most spirited race courses in town. You’ll hear the roar of the crowd as you cross the finish line, and be greeted with sweet treats and seasonal fanfare. Come for the race, stay for the spine-tingling celebration! All proceeds from the We’ve Got Your Back national race series benefit the Spinal Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving spinal health and patient outcomes through research, education, and advocacy.

Are you a Spinal Champion? A Spinal Champion is a person who has achieved an improved quality of life through treatment for a spinal injury or disorder. If you have suffered from neck or back pain and have overcome it through either nonsurgical or surgical treatments, you’re a Spinal Champion. This event is a celebration of your journey and success! Please be sure to select the option during registration to receive your official Spinal Champion tee and VIP benefits, including free post-race nourishment and massages!
Spine-Tingling Post-Race Celebration: Join us for a post-race celebration, healthy living party, and kids activities from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Festivities will include music, entertainment, refreshments, and giveaways.
Team Up: Fun prizes will be awarded to the three largest teams, so grab your co-workers, classmates, neighbors, friends and family! Teams may consist of both runners and walkers, so everyone can join in the friendly competition. Team Captain must set up the team name in the online registration process. Once this is completed, team members will be able to select team name from the drop down menu.
5k Race Awards: There will be cash awards for the top 3 overall males and females ($300-$200-$100). In addition, age group winners will receive gift certificates: 9 and under, 10 – 15, 16 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 69, 70+;
Awards will also be given to the top 3 overall female Spinal Champion finishers and the top 3 overall male Spinal Champion finishers.
