Register for 2022 Feed Fairfax 5K
With Fairfax County being one of the wealthiest counties in our nation, it's surprising to hear that there are a significant number of children who do not have enough food to eat on a regular basis. In 2019, 23,000 children experienced food insecurity. Now, because of COVID-19, that number has doubled, leaving 1 in every 6 kids in Fairfax County suffering from food insecurity.
The Feed Fairfax 5K on May 14, 2022 is a fun 3.1 mile road race through the Greenbriar neighborhood in Fairfax. The race is organized with community partners to raise money and provide food for kids in Fairfax County suffering from food insecurity.
What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to assemble Power Packs for elementary school children within our community.

THE MIGHTY MILE CHALLENGE:
This is a fast and flat course. In fact, the first mile just might be your fastest mile ever! The first mile declines 37 feet and there are two easy turns. This year we have added an optional Mighty Mile Challenge for all 5K race participants. The first male and female 5K runner that crosses the 1-mile mark in the race will win a $100 cash prize, sponsored by Molly Craig, Realtor®.
Finish in a flash with Johnny Flash for your free finish line photo. We will be posting them on our site under the results section shortly after the race. Ensure your number is facing front and visible as you finish.
Many children rely on free and reduced-price meals at school for food. A Power Pack, which contains seven meals, helps to alleviate hunger for local children in need over the weekend when not in school. All of the Power-Packs assembled at the runner's village will be distributed after the race and eaten the next weekend (20-22 May).
Last year in our inaugural year we had over 300 people participate in the race, we packed 14,700 meals and raised over $24,000. This year we are trying to raise $35,000, which will allow us to pack and fund over 23,000 meals for hungry children in our county!
