2023 5k Run/Walk for Affordable Housing

Register for 2023 5k Run/Walk for Affordable Housing


CFH is excited as we come together and celebrate our annual event, 5K-Run-Walk for Affordable Housing to raise awareness and funds to increase affordable housing. Join us on Sunday, October 8, 2023 to run or walk at Occoquan Regional Park. All donations and proceeds raised from this event will fund our continuum of housing programs.

The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:00 am.

Registration fees (for in person or virtual):
5K Run/Walk
Adult (18 & Over): $40 through September 30
                            $45 from October 1 through Race Day
17 & Under:         $20 through September 30
                          $25 from October 1 through Race Day

For those who prefer there is also a Virtual Option.
Support CFH, by running or walking anywhere you choose between, October 8 and October 22.
Virtual: $45 includes shipping of the packet.

Online registration will close on Thursday, October 5 at 8:00 pm

All runners will receive a custom bib and commemorative race shirt

Packet pick up will be Sunday, October 8 at the Occoquan Regional Park starting at 7:30am.
Virtual Packets will be mailed starting no later than October 6. 

Awards will be given to the Overall Top 2 male and female finishers in the 18 & Over and 17 & under categories. For the virtual participants awards will be given to: Best Fundraiser, Most Team Participants, Most Social Media posts and Best Race Photo on Social Media

CFH is a non-profit, which was started by Father Gerald Creedon and a group of Catholic parishioners. CFH is not affiliated with any religious organization and administers its programs in a non-discriminatory manner. Applicants for any of the programs must meet eligibility requirements for the specific program. 

CFH has provided housing opportunities for over 40 years; its programs have now evolved into a continuum of housing and provides a variety of housing opportunities. CFH can serve 21 counties, towns and cities in Northern Virginia. CFH understands that housing is not a one-size fits all and, therefore, provides a variety of programs, including:

  • Security Deposit Assistance
  • Senior Emergency Assistancein Fairfax County
  • Down Payment Assistance in Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun Counties
  • Rental programs in Arlington, Fairfax and Fredericksburg
  • Homeownership opportunities
  • A comprehensive life skills program to enhance participants' skills
