The Van Metre 5K Run was established in 1992 to benefit Children’s National Health System. The event also includes a One Mile Fun Run/Walk inviting everyone from serious runners, occasional joggers and walkers of all skill levels to participate. To date the Van Metre 5K Run has raised over $2.6 million dollars in support of Children’s National.

Virtual race activities will include tips on how to improve your 5K time, best stretching practices and a Spotify playlist to make your run even more exciting! There will also be an interactive warm up video for the kids. All of this will be posted on our website www.VanMetre5KRun.org The post-race celebrations will include prizes for the social media contests which include posting and sharing pictures and videos throughout the next few months. There are also a variety of other raffle prizes for adults and kids alike!
