Registration for Firecracker 5k will remain open through Sunday, July 5 at midnight for packet mailing only.
Packets will be mailed out on Monday, July 6.

No pick up options will be available after 6:45 pm on Friday, July 3. 

Any registrations with mailing after noon on Wednesday, July 1, Please note that your packet will not arrive prior Monday July 6. However you can still run this weekend and upload your results and pictures to the system. Have fun and run!


Celebrate the 4th of July with Potomac River Running by running in the Firecracker 5k For the Troops, presented by Leidos as a Virtual Event!!!

Thank you for interest in registering for the VIRTUAL Firecracker 5K/1M for the Troops presented by Leidos! We are excited to now be able to celebrate our nation's birthday with family and friends from across the country. 

In addition, we now have added a 1 mile option! Now everyone can join in the fun!

Show your American pride! Wear your Red, White and Blue, get out and run or walk a 5k or 1 mile and then celebrate. 

All registrants will receive a Firecracker bib, commemorative shirt and custom medal. All items will be mailed beginning late June. Show off your accomplishments and post your race photos when you upload your time!

Run or walk on July 3, 4 or 5 and then post your times on the registration site (all information on posting times will be sent out). Post your photos on social media and tag =PR= Races for a chance to wins some great prizes! 

Since this is virtual, invite your friends and family from across the country, to "participate" with you!

There will be an instore packet pick for the Virtual Firecracker 5K for the Troops presented by Leidos in the Reston =PR= Store:

Friday, June 26 from 4:00-7:00 pm
Saturday, June 27 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Sunday, June 28 from 1:00-4:00 pm 

All participates will have the option for a minimal contact packet pick up during this time. A race staff member will assign the bib number and then instruct participates to pick up their own medal, shirt, photo op cards and safety pins. In order to pick up June 26-28, participants must be preregistered.  There will be no onsite registration.

For those who prefer not to pick up in person, packets will be mailed out on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30. This will ensure packets are received in time for the July 4^th weekend.
