Register for 2019 Sprout 5k
Join us on Sunday, November 17, 2019 for the Seventh Annual Sprout 5k at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in Ashburn!
The Sprout 5k is a 5k run in the Broadlands community of Ashburn, starting and ending at Clyde's Willow Creek Restaurant. 1k Fun Run is also offered. The purpose of this great event is to raise funds for Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center, a Loudoun-based non-profit organization that provides therapeutic equine activities for individuals with special needs.
Where: Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm, 42920 Broadlands Blvd, Ashburn, VA 20148. The start and finish lines are on the grounds of Clyde's Willow Creek. The race will follow a certified 5k course through the neighborhoods of Broadlands. See course map here.
When: Sunday, November 17, 2019. The 5k will start at 9:00 am. The 1k will start at
9:05am (immediately after the start of the 5k). Both races will be followed by an awards ceremony on the Clydes outdoor patio.
Registration Fees:
Pre-Registration (Online)
Closes on Friday, November 15 at 8pm.
5k: $30, $20 for students (21 & Under), 1k: $20.
Packet Pick-Up/Race Day Registration
Only cash or check will be accepted during packet pick up and on race day.
5k: $40, $30 for students (21 & under), 1k: $30
Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be held at Clyde's Willow Creek on Saturday November 16, from 11:00-4:00 pm. Packet pick-up will also be available the morning of the race starting at 7:30 am.
Awards: Awards will be given to the first and second place runners overall (male and female) and the top two male & female runners in each age group.
Age groups include: 8 & Under, 9-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & over.
Medals will be given to the 1k Fun Run finishers 12 & Under.
About Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center
The Sprout 5k is being held to raise funds and awareness for Sprout Therapeutic & Education Riding Center in Aldie, Virginia. Sprout is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization that offers high-quality programming that meets the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses to include Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Delay and Traumatic Brain Injuries, just to name a few. Participants live throughout Northern Virginia - Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier and Prince William counties. Sprout currently serves over 750 individuals per year with the devoted support of over 200 volunteers. Through this work, Sprout was recognized a Loudoun County Public Schools “Preferred Business Partner,” and the 2016 “Program Recipient of 2016 Recognition for Excellence in Supporting Special Education.” Sprout has also been recognized as a “Best of the Best” Equine Facility in Loudoun County.
All proceeds from the Sprout 5k will allow the organization continue to provide quality services to clients with special needs, scholarships to families with financial needs, facility support and daily care of therapy horses.
