Join us for the 17th annual Freeze Your Gizzard Cross Country 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on November 23, 2019. Celebrate Thanksgiving a little early with us and take the opportunity to have fun, exercise, and perhaps win a turkey! Enjoy the beautiful cross country course that runs through scenic Ida Lee's 138 acre park. Please no dogs, wagons or baby strollers - with the uneven terrain, we want to ensure everyone's safety!

Freeze Your Gizzard will start and finish at the gazebo in the front field of Ida Lee Park. Please follow parking signs for the event; the event parking lot is accessed from North King St. Please do not turn onto Ida Lee Drive.

The 5k will start at 9 am, the 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:45 am.  

Registration Information:

5K: 2 cans of food plus $25 until online registration closes on November 21st at 8:00 pm ($30 plus 2 cans of food for late and race day registration)

1 mile: 2 cans of food plus $10 until online registration closes on November 21st ($15 plus 2 cans of food for late and race day registration)

**NOTE** Registrataion at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center or through Webtrac will close on Wednesday, November 20th at 8pm. 

All participants are asked to bring 2 canned goods or non-perishable items to donate to the Loudoun Hunger Relief Food Bank. Late registrations can be done in person during packet pick up or the morning of the race. 

Course: This course is cross country style and has several steep hills.  The race starts and finishes at the Gazebo at Ida Lee Park, 60 Ida Lee Drive NW, Leesburg, VA 20176.

Swag:  All pre-registered 5k participants will receive a commemorative Freeze Your Gizzard long sleeve t-shirt. Late or race-day 5K registrants will receive a shirt, if available. One mile finishers will receive a medal. 

Packet pick-up and Late Registration:  Runners may pick up race packets or register at Potomac River Running, Leesburg on Friday, November 22nd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. or on race morning at Ida Lee Park from 7:00-8:30 a.m. 

Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups; 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & Over. The best themed costume will also receive an award!

All pre-registered Fun Run participants will receive a medal.   

Additional Information: Monetary donations for Loudoun Hunger Relief accepted online or at the event. Thank you for your kindness. Loudoun Hunger Relief will be hosting a post-race celebration for all participants. Enjoy refreshments and door prizes (must be present to win). Please no dogs, strollers wagons or baby joggers in races. Parking for the race is in the front grass field of Ida Lee Park, accessible from King Street. No parking available at the recreation center.
