Register for the 2020 FinishLyme 5K/1K
Due to the uncertainly of events and the concern for the health and welfare for all participants, it has been decided to postpone the FinishLyme 5K until May 2021. All 2020 registrants will automatically be registered for 2021, with no further action or charge. Additional information will be sent out at a later time.

Lyme disease is the number #1 vector-borne disease in the US with close to 400,000 new cases a year being reported. Virginia had a total fo 1,139 cases reported in 2018, however, the disease is difficult to diagnose and the actual figure may be 10 times greater.
The Annual event formerly called Loudoun Lyme 5K/1K, rebranded as FinishLyme will drive awareness and raise money to help find a cure for Lyme disease - the number one tick-borne illness in the United States. The FinishLyme 10th Anniversary 5K/1K, will also feature an information fair, including the Fairfax County Health Department to help educate the public about Lyme disease, its causes, symptoms and treatments.

Virtual 5K/1K Race:
Running FinishLyme virtually was created for those who have a passion about raising money for NatCapLyme but may not be able to physically join in on the fun at Fairfax Corner on October 4th .
How does it work?Run/Walk at any location you want. You can use the treadmill, run outside, your own course, another race, or get your running group together. You can run the event any day before the race or on race day!

When are medals and event guide mailed out?
Your race swag of an event medal or t-shirt, and event guide will be mailed out the week of October 5th to the address provided when you registered.
Do I need to pay for shipping?
Price includes shipping of race event guide and race medal or t-shirts inside the US.

Note: Those participating virtually are not eligible for awards or door prizes being offered at the FinishLyme Race event on October 4. No refunds will be offered.

Make it more fun! Form a team to represent a family, company or a group of friends and compete against other teams! Register individuals as a team separately and list the team name when asked. Team name must be exactly the same for each team member. Teams consist of at least 4 & must include at least 1 female and 1 male. Top 4 finishers’ times will be combined to determine the team's time. Top 3 overall teams for the 5k will win and receive an award.
3.1 mile certified course will start and finish at Fairfax Corner and take you through the neighborhood streets of Fairfax Corner. 5K course will be open for 60 min.
.65 distance will start and finish at Fairfax Corner and take you through the neighboring streets of Fairfax Corner.

Awards will be awarded to the overall male and overall female, second place overall male and second place overall female and to the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups for both the 5K 12 and under, 13–18, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+
The National Capital Lyme Disease Association (NatCapLyme) is committed to helping patients diagnosed with tick-borne infections through research, education, support, and legislation. NatCapLyme encourages individuals to advocate for themselves in their goal to regain their health.
The organization offers regular patient support group meetings throughout Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and the District of Columbia, as well as information, speakers, and news updates on legislative and scientific developments. NatCapLyme educates government policy makers and legislators on Lyme & tick-borne diseases and raises funds to support Lyme research.
