Lace up your running shoes, grab a leash and join the fun as we race to “Crush Cancer @ Both Ends of the Leash” on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Brambleton, VA! Two and four legged athletes will compete in the 2nd Annual Two By Four Race Against Childhood & Canine Cancer,  brought to you by Canines-N-Kids Foundation in partnership with Smashing Walnuts Foundation, two Loudoun-based charities who are again teaming up to raise awareness and funding for critical cancer researchThis unique race will feature a timed 5k race and an untimed 1-mile Dog Jog/Fun Run (That’s 7-miles in dog years!) 

Why This Special Race?     The goal of this special race is to bring our community together push for better medicines and a cure, for our most vulnerable cancer patients – kids and man’s best friend.  Net proceeds will go toward furthering lifesaving cancer research to fight the devastating cancers (bone cancer, brain cancers, lymphoma & leukemia) that children and our canine companions BOTH develop!

Two By Four Registration Costs/Details

 

The 5K (8:00 am start)

A certified 5K course, this race is also part of the Race Brambleton series.

Registration cost:

$25 Early Registration through July 31

$30 Regular Registration Aug 1 – Aug. 31

$35 Late Registration Sept. 1 – Sept. 27

$40 Packet Pick Sept 28 & Sept 29

 

Age 18 and under:

$25 through Sept 29

 

·         5k participants will receive an official race performance t-shirt.

·         Online registration will close on Thursday, September 27 at 8:00pm

  

The Dog Jog (9:00 am start)

Registration cost:

$25 Early Registration through July 31

$30 Regular Registration Aug 1 – Aug. 31

$35 Late Registration Sept. 1 – Sept. 27

$40 Packet Pick Sept 28 & Sept 29

 

Age 18 and under:

$25 through Sept 29

 

Registration for the 1- mile Dog Jog covers participation and Race T-Shirt for ONE Human (runner or walker), and ONE canine participant as well as ONE bandanna for the Canine participant. 

·         A Dog Jog Human Runner/Walker may register up to, but not more than TWO canines.

·         The registration fee for the second canine participant will be $15.00 and also includes a bandana for the second dog.

·         Registered dogs will receive an official "Two by Four" bandana as part of their registration fee.

·         Dog Jog human participants will receive an official race performance t-shirt.

 

Please Note: IMPORTANT – for the safety of all participants – two and four legged:  You are REQUIRED to enter the dates for canine participant rabies vaccinations.  In addition, you may upload an up to date vaccination record, or you will be asked to furnish an up to date vaccination record at packet pick up.  If we do not have proof of required up-to-date rabies vaccination(s) for your canine participant, your canine may not be permitted participate in the “Two By Four.” Registration fees for the Dog Jog are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding and attention to this most important issue

 

For Dog Jog Registrants:

·         T-shirt and bandannas guaranteed to all registered by September 15

·         Online registration will close on Thursday, September 27 at 8:00pm

 

.The Fun Run (9:00 am start)

 

The Fun Run is a 1-mile loop (humans only!) 

 

Registration cost: $25.00 through Sept. 29

 

·         Fun Run participants will receive an official fun run t-shirt.

·         T-shirt guaranteed to all registered by September 15 

 

 Virtual 5k 

 

Registration Cost: $30 through Sept. 29

 

·         Virtual 5k participants will receive an official race t-shirt mailed to the address provided at registration after September 29.

·         T-shirt guaranteed to all registered by September 15

Awards
Awards for the 5k will be given to the top two overall male and female finishers.  As well as the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups; 14 & Under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 60 & Over

Team Challenge

Form a team to represent a family, company or a group of friends and compete against other teams. Your team is also welcome and encouraged to fundraise for the "Two By Four" (effort to support lifesaving research in the cancers children and our canine best friends BOTH develop) as you prepare for the event.
