The ART of Driving

The ART of Driving is the award winning educational outreach program of the Ashley Renee Thompson Memorial Foundation. We provide educational awareness programs for teen drivers and parents. In addition,we offer an annual college scholarship to a deserving teen from our community. Vehicle crashes are not only the leading cause of death for our teen population, but is now the leading cause of death for all children over the age of 5! Our programs educate teens and parents on how to “Survive the 5” leading causes of teen vehicle crashes. We work to keep all children safe on our roads. We are a 501 (c)3 nonprofit dedicated to saving lives.
Join us on Sunday, September 23 at Fairfax Corner. The 5k will begin at 8:00 am.
Registration Fees:
$25 through July 22
$30 from July 23 through August 22
$35 from August 23 through race day.
** online registration will close on Friday, September 21 at 8:00 pm. late registrations will be accepted during packet pick up and on race morning.
Strollers and four-legged friends are welcome!
Packet Pick will be at the =PR= Store at Fairfax Corner on Saturday, September 22 from 12:00-4:00 pm, then starting at 7:00 am on Sunday, September 23 in the plaza.
Registrants will receive a commemorative race tech shirt and swag bag. Be sure to register prior to September 1 to guarantee a shirt.
Awards will be given to the overall top 2 male and female finishers, the overall top male and female 12 & under finishers, the top stroller finisher and top dog.
The goal of the 4th Annual "Survive the 5" 5k is to raise $25,000! The proceeds from this event will allow us to continue our educational programs and annual college scholarship fund.
